The Tarot Journey

I first started reading tarot cards over twenty years ago, but life happened, and this took a back seat until last year. When I picked up my new deck, I found I needed to completely reconnect with how I read the cards; I have so much more life experience now which allows for a wider interpretation and it was a totally different ball game than when I was in my early 20s.

So I went back to basics, connecting with the cards and my spirit team, asking set questions which only required a single card pull. This formed part of my morning routine; coffee, grounding, daily affirmations, and tarot pull. I had three questions that I would ask the card that related to the day, these would be written in my notebook along with the card that was pulled and my interpretation. At the end of each day, I could look back at how accurate my interpretation was and also whether I had handled situations differently because of the card pull. I had quite a lot going on in my life during this time; divorce legalities, house sale, family issues etc, and yes, if a card told me to bite my tongue and not react to something, I would do as it said.

During these morning sessions, I would quite often get downloads from my guides  – many of these were repeated over the months. There were three particular things which came through then, and still do now. All three involve me doing something, and as I suffer from a lot of self-doubt I questioned myself and conducted a lot of research as a way of procrastination – I do like to procrastinate!

One evening when I was doing a non-related working in my office/craft room, the voice came through again telling me I needed to get a wriggle on. After I had finished the working, I decided to do a simple three card pull asking if I should proceed with this idea. These are the cards I pulled:

I interpreted this as that I would reap the rewards of this new idea, as long as I had the self-belief to work through my own blocks. This is exactly what I have spent the last few months doing, and the first idea that I received has come to fruition – a 365-day journal to record daily tarot readings. I have produced this in a similar way to my own personal journal, but have also included moon cycle and astrological placements to aid in formulating UPGs for the beginner reader. The result is a combined diary/journal that can be referred back to again and again.

I had to overcome self-doubt on so many levels and learn new skills to bring this idea to life and am so proud of the resulting journal. I genuinely believe that it makes the perfect partner for someone new to tarot; using this technique helped me learn not only the ‘meanings’ of each of the cards, but also how personal interpretations play a massive role in card readings.

If you know someone who might benefit from this journal, it’s available on Amazon and you can find it here. I am also working on a general 3-card spread journal which will also be available shortly.
